Manuel Mathieu

Manuel Mathieu Parfums launched its debut fragrance collection, Chapter 1, in 2025, extending Manuel Mathieu’s multidisciplinary art practice into perfumery. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and living in Montreal and Paris, Mathieu’s work spans painting, ceramics, drawing, installation, and explorations of humanity and spirituality. He provides the brand’s creative direction, connecting scent with sculpture, ceramics, and personal and collective memory. Chapter 1 comprises Dsire, île noire, and ECCCO, presented as an interconnected first chapter in the brand’s exploration of art and fragrance. In 2026, this scent-based practice was included in the Venice Biennale profile of Mathieu’s work, where scent extends the material vocabulary of his painting, ceramics, mosaic, and film.
