Marbert

Founded in Düsseldorf in 1936 by beautician Margarethe Sendler and physician Dr. Bertha Roeber, Marbert took its name from the beginnings of their first names. In 1948, it became the first German cosmetics company to offer training, consultations, and advice in beauty and skincare; by the 1950s, it was among Germany’s best-known cosmetics brands, and in 1958 it received a medal as the leading German specialist-cosmetics brand at the Brussels World Exhibition. Hoechst acquired Marbert in 1968, after which the brand was developed for international markets. Beauty Brands International acquired it in 2009, and in 2011 Straub acquired the worldwide trademark rights. In October 2022, Beauty Brands International, including Marbert, was merged into Straub GmbH. Its skincare range is developed by women for women, with products aimed at individual skin needs and based on its own research and development. Marbert Man, launched in 1977, and Marbert Woman, launched in 1987, are identified as standout fragrances with continuous success compared with less enduring releases. Its later public identity emphasizes skincare and body care through lines such as Bath & Body Classic and Man Classic.
