Marc Ecko
Ecko Unltd. was founded in 1993 by Marc Eckō from a hand-drawn concept rooted in graffiti culture. Its public identity centers on self-expression, graffiti culture, and the rhino symbol, associated with strength and independence. The brand evolved from streetwear into a broader lifestyle portfolio encompassing active-athletic, streetwear, collegiate and preppy, and denim fashion. Marc Ecko extended his creative work into Complex magazine in 2002, covering music, visual arts, fashion, technology, sports, video games, film, and television. In 2004, Marc Ecko Cut & Sew launched as a tailored extension that combined classic tailoring with bold graphics and embellishments. His creative work also included the 2006 release of Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, a graffiti-themed video game. The brand’s current public presentation connects its heritage with archival designs revisited through a modern perspective.
