MarieJeanne Grasse
Created in Grasse in 2014 by Georges Maubert, MarieJeanne takes its name from his maternal grandmother, MarieJeanne. Maubert is a fifth-generation member of the family associated with Robertet, whose history in perfume materials dates to 1850. The brand began with candles, expanded to colognes in 2018, and introduced eaux de parfum in 2019. Its creative identity focuses on raw materials, sourcing, traceability, sustainable agriculture, and simplified formulas that emphasize the essential character of ingredients. Green bottles and wood packaging support a minimalist identity intended to evoke nature and historic laboratory vessels. Creative collaborations have included a 2021 olfactory experience by Maubert and Sidonie Lancesseur for Prune Nourry’s Projet Phénix exhibition, and a 2022 scented-candle collaboration with the Musée Barbier-Mueller, Arik Levy, and Zoé Ouvrier. Léon has been the brand’s number-one seller since launch and is a light floral-citrus fragrance built around honeysuckle, orange blossom, woods, and musk.
