Marina Picasso

Marina Picasso is a French individual, the granddaughter and heir of Pablo Picasso. After her father’s death, she became an heiress, moving from near poverty to inherited wealth and living in one of Pablo Picasso’s Cannes residences. In 1990, she created a foundation to help orphans in Vietnam; that year, she adopted three children and established the Village of Youth at Thu-Duc, which accommodated 350 children for more than 20 years before later becoming a state orphanage. Her public creative work also includes the French-language autobiographical book Children of the End of the World, published in 1995 after an editor saw a television program about her work with Vietnamese orphans. In fragrance, Chapeau Bleu was launched in 1994 and credited to perfumer Arturetto Landi; its figural bottle was inspired by Pablo Picasso’s 1939 painting Buste de Femme au Chapeau Bleu.
