Fragrance house
Masque Milano
Masque Milano was established on April 1, 2010, by Alessandro Brun and Riccardo Tedeschi after research into scents and essences in Grasse and work with Italian artisans. In 2013, the founders launched Masque Fragranze as a scented opera: its fragrances were arranged as numbered acts and scenes, with each scent representing a memory, place, relationship, emotion, or dream. The brand describes its practice as fragrance art rooted in Italian excellence, combining cultural stories and journeys with independent perfumers and artisan craftsmanship. Brun and Tedeschi shaped the work as playwrights and artistic directors, briefing and guiding perfumers who interpreted each operatic role. The Opera project was presented with Mandala and Times Square at Esxence in 2017; the brand later broadened its structure beyond Opera with Le Donne, created by female perfumers, and the Ruby and Emerald collections. White Whale received an honorable mention at the 2023 Art and Olfaction Awards. Brun, the co-founder and creative director, died in 2024. Russian Tea and Tango were among four original Masque Milano bestsellers and were later reworked into the Ruby Oud collection.
