Matca

Matca is a botanical-perfumery studio based in Sibiu, Romania, created in 2019 by Georgiana Ștefănoaei and Sebastian Țiplea. The brand launched its first four fragrances in September 2020. Its early perfumes used botanical materials including essential oils, resins, extracts and absolutes, while its stated olfactory identity looks to the origin or source of scent and combines traditional perfumery processes with modern natural ingredients. Ștefănoaei is Matca’s perfumer and leads its olfactory work, developing the formulas; Țiplea is the art director who shaped the brand’s visual identity and image. By May 2025, Matca was described as a six-year-old artisanal fragrance producer that had grown from the founders’ original venture while retaining its natural-perfumery positioning.
