Mem

MEM Company was founded in Vienna, Austria, in 1883 as a toiletries and cosmetics company. It moved to the United States in the late 1940s, where it developed as a fragrance-focused toiletries company. English Leather, introduced in 1949, is MEM’s best-known creation. The fragrance was marketed as a broader signature-scent system spanning cologne and related grooming products, rather than as an individual perfume alone. In 1996, MEM Company was transferred to Renaissance Cosmetics. After the Renaissance Cosmetics period, English Leather was carried within the Dana Classics portfolio and later belonged to Dana Classics as a MEM creation.
