Menard

Menard was established on November 17, 1959, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, as a comprehensive cosmetics manufacturer, and was founded by Daisuke Nonogawa. Its founding purpose was to help individual customers achieve beauty through cosmetics and contribute to local communities and society. Menard’s enduring identity is expressed through “Seeking true beauty” and “Magokoro,” defined as sincere dedication to improving lifestyles and contributing to society through beauty. From the beginning, it emphasized face-to-face guidance in cosmetic use and skincare. Menard also broadened its concept of beauty into cultural activity: the Menard Art Museum opened in Komaki in 1987 to present the collection assembled by Daisuke and Mitsuko Nonogawa. Its international evolution included establishments in Taiwan and Malaysia in 1988, China in 1994, France in 2002, Hong Kong in 2005, and the United States in 2019. In fragrance, Menard launched Mérefame in 1979 as a 20th-anniversary product fragrance; it is identified as the brand’s most famous fragrance.
