Fragrance house
Mexx
Mexx was created in the Netherlands in 1986, when Rattan Chadha merged his men’s brand, Moustache, with his women’s brand, Emanuelle; the name combines M, E and XX for two kisses. The brand presents itself as a casual, modern lifestyle label centered on freedom, optimism, openness, inspiration, authenticity and togetherness. After being declared bankrupt in the Netherlands in December 2014, Mexx was taken over by Turkish apparel and retail group Eroğlu Holding and restarted in early 2015. RNF Holding acquired the brand on July 12, 2017, bringing its clothing and perfume lines back into Dutch ownership, while its worldwide retail operations were excluded from the transaction. Mexx perfumes were operated under a long-term licensing agreement with Coty. The brand’s fragrance history includes an international fragrance and cosmetics license secured by a Wella subsidiary in 1999. Black Woman and Black Man launched as a pair in 2009, and Black Man won the 2010 Duftstars audience award in the Lifestyle Men category.
