Michael Christopher

Michael Christopher is a U.S.-handcrafted fragrance company whose work spans private-label programs, custom-blended original fragrances, packaging, and quality-assurance services. For more than 35 years, it has introduced bottle designs for clients, reflecting a long-running private-label business. Alongside custom work, its public fragrance portfolio includes Lenel Cologne, Lenel Musk, and deRoschiele Cologne. Lenel provides the clearest documented fragrance legacy: a classic masculine fragrance that has remained virtually unchanged since 1952. Trademark records trace Lenel’s first use in commerce to 1945 and its registration to 1977, with Michael Christopher Ltd. listed as the first new owner entered after its original registration by Lenel Perfumes, Inc. From 1983 to 1996, Michael Christopher Ltd. also held or registered marks for MC, Michael Christopher, and Natural Woods. Another legacy fragrance, deRoschiele, was originally called Rothchild Fragrance Products and was created by Francis Rothchild.
