Fragrance house
Missala
Missala began in Warsaw in 1991, founded by Stanisława Missala shortly after Poland’s political transformation. The family business initially offered established luxury houses including Chanel, Dior, and Guerlain before moving toward a specialty in luxury and niche fragrance brands, a transition that accelerated from 2004 when Stanisława’s sons, Michał and Mateusz, and their wives joined its operation. Its identity is shaped by curated perfumery, individualized fragrance guidance, and an approach that treats perfume as an artistic and experiential subject as well as a retail product. The house’s own fragrance, Qessence, was created for Quality’s 20th anniversary and launched in 2011 after development in Grasse with perfumer Jean-Claude Astier. It remains the clearest fragrance associated with Missala in the reviewed record, with a loyal group of users identified in editorial coverage.
