Monique Lhuillier

Monique Lhuillier was established in 1996 by Monique Lhuillier and her husband, Tom Bugbee, beginning as a bridal house shaped by Lhuillier’s difficulty finding a sufficiently fashion-forward dress for her own wedding. The label expanded into ready-to-wear in 2002 and eveningwear in the following years, and by 2005 was presenting collections during New York Fashion Week while building a public profile through bridal, eveningwear and red-carpet dressing; Britney Spears’s custom Monique Lhuillier wedding gown for her 2004 marriage brought substantial press attention. Its design identity combines femininity and modernity across bridal, ready-to-wear and accessories, and by 2013 its lifestyle offering also included footwear, stationery, tabletop products and home fragrance. The brand entered fine fragrance with Monique Lhuillier Eau de Parfum, launched on February 22, 2020, a floral composition created with perfumer Maurice Roucel; its home-fragrance offering also includes an Agraria collaboration with four scents: Citrus Lily, Dolce, Limone and Tomato Oakmoss.
