Mont St Michel

Mont St Michel’s fragrance history begins in Paris in 1920, when Paul-André Serre created its Eau de Cologne. The name reportedly came from flea-market labels bearing the silhouette of Mont Saint-Michel, which became associated with the cologne. Presented in pre-bottled form for pharmacy customers, the original product was described as a unisex floral accord. The brand’s documented fragrance legacy centers on Eau de Cologne L’Originale, the 1920 floral fragrance for women and men. In 2014, Henkel France was identified as manufacturing and marketing products under the Mont Saint-Michel brand. Ownership later changed: under an act dated 31 March 2021, Beauty International B.V. acquired from Henkel entities the business operated under the Mont Saint-Michel trademarks and associated intangible assets.
