Montale

Founded in Paris in 2003 by Pierre Montale after his encounter with the olfactory traditions and oud materials of the Orient, Montale is a family-owned perfume house whose identity combines French perfumery with Oriental inspiration and a nomadic, travel-based creative narrative. Pierre Montale remains the house’s defining creative figure, having shaped every Montale fragrance. Black Aoud, launched in 2006 and perfumed by Pierre Montale, offers a representative expression of the house’s oud-centered approach, combining Cambodian oud with Indonesian patchouli, musk, mandarin and rose in a composition framed as a meeting of East and West.
