Montblanc
Montblanc traces its origins to the culture of writing in Hamburg, Germany, in 1906. The fountain-pen venture was founded by August Eberstein, Alfred Nehemias, and investor C. J. Voß; it was incorporated in Hamburg in 1908, and the Montblanc name was introduced in 1910. Its early identity was built around refined writing instruments, including the Meisterstück, introduced in 1924. The white star emblem was standardized in the early twentieth century, and 4810—referring to Mont Blanc’s measured height—has appeared on writing instruments since 1930. Alfred Dunhill acquired Montblanc in 1977. Over time, Montblanc evolved into a broader luxury Maison spanning writing instruments, watches, leather goods, accessories, and fragrances, with craftsmanship, design, and the Montblanc emblem remaining identity markers. Its fragrance business began through a license with Interparfums in 2010, followed by the launch of Montblanc Legend in 2011. Marco Tomasetta became Creative Director effective 1 March 2021, with a remit to connect icons such as the Meisterstück with new concepts across categories.
