Moroccanoil
Moroccanoil traces its origins to co-founder Carmen Tal’s discovery of an argan-oil hair treatment in Israel after a hair-colour service severely damaged her hair. Carmen and Ofer Tal secured North American distribution rights, and Carmen later bought the company outright when demand exceeded production capacity. The products were being offered under the Moroccanoil name by January 2007; the brand marked its tenth anniversary in 2018, establishing 2008 as the approximate date of its global-market launch. From its original treatment, Moroccanoil developed into an argan-oil-centered beauty brand spanning haircare, body products and professional hair colour, while its public identity was shaped by its role in pioneering the argan-oil haircare category. Moroccanoil Treatment debuted in 2008 and became a classic used backstage at Fashion Week. Its Mediterranean-inspired signature scent, blending spicy amber and sweet floral notes, later expanded into a Hair & Body Fragrance Mist and five new Moroccan-inspired fragrances introduced in March 2022.
