Moschino

Moschino was founded in Milan in 1983 by Franco Moschino, whose first women’s collection appeared that year. From its beginnings, the house built its creative language around irony, fun, provocation, and reflection on society through fashion. Its early expansion brought a men’s collection in 1984, Moschino Jeans in 1986, and the Cheap and Chic line in 1989. That same year, it publicly promoted ecological concerns in fashion and used eco-fur on its runways. After Franco Moschino’s death in 1994, close collaborator Rossella Jardini succeeded him as creative director and continued the brand’s stylistic direction. Jeremy Scott took the role in 2013, reinterpreting the house’s established language for new generations. Following his resignation in March 2023 and Davide Renne’s brief succession and death later that year, Adrian Appiolaza was appointed creative director in January 2024 and presented his first collection in February. Moschino introduced its first women’s fragrance in 1987; its Toy family connects the teddy-bear design to every scent, with Toy 2 extending the concept in 2018.
