Moth and Rabbit

Moth and Rabbit is a Berlin-founded experimental contemporary niche fragrance house founded by Elke Filpes and Christian Choi. Its identity translates stories and emotions into olfactive products and experiences, using the moth and rabbit as symbols of transformation and reproduction. Drawing on films, contemporary art, and other cultural works, the house turns those narratives into scent; Mark Buxton is identified as its principal perfumer and creator of its film- and artist-inspired fragrances. Its film-linked collection includes works associated with Mood Indigo, Love Exposure, Daisies, La Haine, The Lobster, and Parasite. An early milestone was Love Exposure, developed through the Le Cinema Olfactif project, which paired film screenings with scents inspired by specific films. Buxton created the fragrance in response to Sion Sono’s film of the same name, and it is listed as released in 2014.
