Neela Vermeire Creations
Established in France in 2011 and making its global debut in 2012, Neela Vermeire Creations was founded and is creatively directed by Neela Vermeire. Drawing on her memories of India while living and working in Paris, Vermeire shaped the house around contemporary classic perfumes with an Eastern heritage, linking Indian history and culture to French perfumery. Bertrand Duchaufour has been the brand’s principal perfumer and creative collaborator, with Vermeire closely involved in evaluating and revising the compositions as co-creations. The original program presented three views of India: Trayee reflects the Vedic period and family religious rituals; Mohur draws on the Mughal and British Raj periods and Vermeire’s education in art and culture; and Bombay Bling represents contemporary India. Ashoka received the Independent award at the first Art and Olfaction Awards in 2014, and its tribute to Emperor Ashoka exemplifies the brand’s historically grounded approach. In 2022, the house introduced Fragments by NVC, a separate parfum line comprising Nemus, Purpureum, and Thyina, developed before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The official legal notice identifies the business as a French SAS and names Vermeire as publication director.
