Nesti Dante

In September 1945, Dante Nesti began making soap at home in Florence with a small 50-litre cauldron; by 1947, the business was registered with the Florence Chamber of Commerce. The operation developed into Saponificio Nesti Dante while retaining the traditional Marseille-style cauldron saponification process as part of its identity. The brand is directed by the second and third generations of the founding family, including Roberto Nesti, Dante’s son. Its stated approach balances innovation with tradition and places quality ahead of becoming the largest company. Fragrance gained a distinct expression through Essence de Parfum, a collection launched in 2018 after Carolina Nesti drew inspiration from her mother Laura’s personal fragrance and her grandmother’s love of gardens, flowers, fruit, and plants. The collection comprises five fragrances created with precious oils and a slow maceration process; examples include N°5 Limonum Zagara, described as a popular summer scent, and N°1 Fico della Signoria, associated with the family’s fig tree and identified by Carolina Nesti as her favorite.
