Nette

Based in New York City, Nette was founded in 2021 by second-generation candle maker Carol Han Pyle. It began as a candle brand and expanded into fine fragrance, launching its perfume category exclusively with Sephora in 2023. Nette was created to address a perceived gap between luxury presentation and transparent, cleaner candle ingredients and formulations. Pyle’s background in fashion and beauty editorial, followed by her work running a digital agency for luxury brands, shaped the company’s storytelling-led approach. Its creative identity draws on a poetic worldview, imaginary protagonists, cultural touchstones, and character-study fragrances, with a poem carried on each perfume bottle and candle label. Nette frames its olfactory work as a meeting of art and science, with science-backed fragrances intended to support feelings including joy, confidence, mindfulness, and relaxation. IFF perfumer Céline Barel formulated most of its scents. Pear Jam is one of Nette’s most iconic fragrances; inspired by a scene in Ghost, it marked the brand’s move into fine fragrance through Sephora and received an Allure 2024 Best of Beauty award.
