Nette NYC

Nette NYC launched in December 2020 and was founded in 2021 by second-generation candle maker Carol Han Pyle. Based in New York City, the brand reflects Han Pyle’s childhood, shaped by her mother’s candle shop in Sausalito; before Nette, she worked in fashion and beauty editorial at Elle and founded a social-media agency in 2010. Nette began with candles before expanding into fine fragrance, launching that category exclusively with Sephora in 2023. Its creative identity treats scent as both poetry and an emotional experience: Han Pyle writes a poem for each fragrance, develops scents around emotions and imaginary protagonists, and pairs that storytelling with neuroscience and AI-based wellbeing research. The name is derived from a French word associated with elegance, impeccability, and cleanliness. Pear Jam, created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux with Han Pyle, is among Nette’s most iconic fragrances and a fan favorite, translating the Japanese-pear scene in the 1990 film Ghost into a pear-centered fruity floral.
