Nicole Miller
Nicole Miller co-founded her namesake label with Bud Konheim in New York in 1982, after working at P.J. Walsh and training at the Rhode Island School of Design and École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. Its early creative identity combined body-conscious silhouettes, graphic and conversational prints, and Paris-influenced draping and construction. In the late 1980s, the label developed a shorter, sexier crepe-based silhouette; after an initial sales decline, that direction helped restore the business by 1990 and preceded its first major fashion shows. The brand later expanded beyond womenswear into accessories, footwear, bridalwear, homewear, sportswear, and licensed categories, with fragrance and cosmetics launching in 1993. On February 2, 2022, Gordon Brothers announced a majority investment in Nicole Miller; Miller retained a stake and continued as chief creative officer and a board member. The brand returned to perfume in 2010 with Nicole Miller, a signature fragrance in the floral chypre family.
