Nike

Nike is a Spanish fragrance business whose operations trace to 1929; its predecessor registered the NIKE name in Spain for perfumery products in 1940. Campomar acquired the business and assets of Perfumes Nike in 1984, including its intellectual property and trademark registrations. In 1989, Nike Cosmetics S.A. was incorporated to manufacture and sell NIKE perfumes under an exclusive licence from Campomar. The fragrance business and Campomar were later brought together under the De Ruy name, and De Ruy is identified as its current owner. This Nike is distinct from Nike, Inc., the American athletic company founded in 1964 by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman, with no corporate connection between the two businesses.
