Nikki Beach

Nikki Beach began in 1998, when Jack and Lucia Penrod founded a small garden café on Miami Beach. Originally called Café Nikki, it was created to honor Nicole Penrod, Jack’s 18-year-old daughter, who died in a 1997 car accident; the café later expanded onto the beach and became Nikki Beach. Its founding philosophy, “Celebrating Life,” brings together music, dining, entertainment, fashion, film, and art. The original Miami Beach club grew into the family-owned and operated Nikki Beach Hospitality Group, spanning beach clubs, resorts, residences, restaurant concepts, spas, and lifestyle boutiques. The Penrods opened clubs in Saint-Tropez and Saint Barth in 2002, beginning the brand’s international expansion, and staged its first film-festival pop-up at Cannes in 2003. Jack Penrod died on February 3, 2025, at 85, while Lucia Penrod continued to lead the company. The group introduced Lucia Restaurants in 2024 and Maison Mer in 2025. Its fragrance work includes a 2018 Saint-Tropez signature home-fragrance collection created with 12.29 and Dawn Goldworm.
