Nine West

Nine West was established in 1978 and named for its founding address at 9 West 57th Street in New York City. Co-founded by Vince Camuto and Jerome Fisher, it developed around a New York fashion identity and women’s footwear before extending into handbags and accessories. The brand went public in 1993, was acquired by Jones Apparel Group in 1999, and later passed with the Jones Group to Sycamore Partners in 2014. After Nine West Holdings filed for Chapter 11 in April 2018, Authentic Brands Group won the bankruptcy auction for Nine West and Bandolino and completed the acquisition in July 2018, shifting Nine West to an ownership and licensing model. In fragrance, Nine West launched Love Fury in January 2012 as its first fragrance collaboration and described it as a signature fragrance, linking the concept to the brand’s high-heel footwear identity.
