Nissan

Nissan traces its automotive lineage to Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works, established in Tokyo in 1911, and to the Datsun name, adopted in 1932. Its corporate predecessor, Jidosha Seizo Co., Ltd., was established in Yokohama on December 26, 1933, through investment by Nihon Sangyo and Tobata Casting, and changed its name to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in June 1934. Today, Nissan is an automotive company and a member of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance. On February 13, 2025, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi ended discussions on integrating their businesses after the proposal shifted toward making Nissan a Honda subsidiary; the companies said they would continue selected cooperation on electric and smart-car technologies.
