Fragrance house

Norra Norrland

Scents from Norra Norrland began in 2015 with the launch of Scent of Aurora. Based in Piteå, Norrbotten, Sweden, the brand was founded and is owned by Eva Henriksson, who created its fragrances. The business grew from Henriksson’s home mini-lab experiments into a fragrance house whose scents are developed in Grasse, France, through small-batch work. Its creative identity draws on northern Sweden, particularly Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and the region’s landscapes and flora. Henriksson’s earlier work in a bakery, where she closely encountered the aromas of bread and spices, also informed her approach to fragrance creation. Scent of Aurora takes its name from the aurora borealis and uses northern Swedish flora and imagery; The Pearl offers another place-based composition, inspired by the village of Älvsbyn. The brand’s documented recognition includes awards for Arctic Elegance and Queen of Lapland, as well as a 2023 Golden Tree Award for Best Products. By 2023, it presented itself as a boutique perfume house focused on fragrances and extracts inspired by life and nature in Sweden’s far north.
