Fragrance house
Nuxe
Created in 1989, NUXE was founded by Aliza Jabès, who acquired a small Parisian natural-cosmetology formulation laboratory in the early 1990s. The brand developed around natural-origin cosmetics, plant-based inspiration, in-house research and development, and sensorial formulations, introducing this approach through the pharmacy channel. In 1991, Jabès and her R&D team created Huile Prodigieuse, a multi-use dry oil for the face, body, and hair. Its immediate success and enduring iconic status helped shape NUXE’s public identity: the oil is more than a skincare product, pairing its uses with a distinct skin fragrance and recognizable solar scent. NUXE later broadened its range with Rêve de Miel lip balm in 1994 and Crème Fraîche de Beauté in 1999. In September 2019, a family-shareholding restructuring brought Sofina in as a minority investor alongside Jabès, supporting refinancing and continued international development while she retained majority ownership and control.
