Ode to Sélf

Ode to Sélf Perfumery officially debuted in 2020, after founder Laura Ballin had begun creating perfumes several years earlier while studying naturopathy. Based in Queensland, Australia, the brand is founded and owned by Ballin, whose work connects fragrance with self-care and reconnecting with oneself through body and mind. She formulates and hand-crafts the perfumes herself, drawing on personal memories, emotions, or destinations and selecting botanicals to reflect them. Ode to Sélf describes its scents as botanical and natural, made with essential oils, resins, and absolutes in organic coconut-oil, jojoba-oil, or sugar-cane-alcohol bases, without synthetic fragrance, petrochemicals, phthalates, or parabens. Each scent carries a therapeutic intention linked to self-connection and personal ritual: Unfurl is associated with openness and self-acceptance, while Ethereal is associated with connection and mindfulness. By July 2025, Ode to Sélf had launched Eau de Parfum versions.
