Olaplex

Olaplex was founded in 2014 from the work of chemists Craig Hawker and a former student, whose bond-building approach helped create a new haircare category. The brand began with a two-part salon treatment that year, added an at-home version later in 2014, and was selling products globally by the end of 2015. Its identity is rooted in patent-protected, science-led bond-building technology and a professional-hairstylist-first approach centered on hair health. Advent International backed Olaplex from 2019, and the company completed its initial public offering on October 4, 2021, becoming a Nasdaq-listed public company. Henkel completed its acquisition on July 7, 2026; Olaplex became fully part of Henkel, and its shares ceased trading on Nasdaq.
