Origins

Origins was founded by The Estée Lauder Companies in 1990 as a department-store wellness brand and launched in the United States that year. Its approach combines plant-based beauty with high-performance skincare, responsible sourcing, and environmental initiatives, alongside a stated identity that joins plant science with advanced technology. The brand launched Night-A-Mins in 1997, described in its official history as a breakout hit nighttime moisturizer, and began collaborating with Dr. Andrew Weil in 2005 on treatments reflecting his integrative-wellness approach. In 2009, Origins introduced Plant-A-Tree with American Forests’ Global ReLeaf and reported helping plant more than 500,000 trees globally since the program began. Origins remains part of The Estée Lauder Companies. In 2020, it announced a partnership with SABIC and Albéa to use advanced recycled resin in tubes, with the initiative scheduled to reach the market in 2021.
