Orlane
Orlane’s history reaches back to 1946, when Hubert and Michel d’Ornano created Jean d’Albret, the perfume company that preceded the brand. In 1953, they joined their parents, Guillaume and Elisabeth, to create Orlane as a skincare house. The d’Ornano family sold the company in the late 1960s, and on 30 October 1985 Orlane transferred its business assets to Kelemata France, which adopted the Orlane name; the transferring company became Ortran. Orlane is now part of the Italian, family-owned Kelémata cosmetics group, to which the house has belonged for more than 30 years. Its identity is French haute cosmétique, focused on scientific anti-aging skincare and the B21 Bio-Energic Complex, alongside a philosophy of re-educating the skin. The early fragrance story includes Écusson, first issued by Jean d’Albret and first appearing in France in 1947.
