Ormonde Jayne

Ormonde Jayne was founded by Linda Pilkington after a Chanel Fine Jewellery commission for 50 scented candles led her to register the company; its name combines her middle name, Jayne, with Ormonde Terrace, where she lived. The brand opened its first boutique on London’s Old Bond Street in October 2001, then evolved from candles and bespoke commissions into fine fragrance, launching Ormonde Woman, Champaca and Tolu in 2002. Its identity combines British craftsmanship, London design, travel and culture, with rare ingredients and perfumes intended to express individual creativity. In 2004, Ormonde Man introduced oud into the house’s fine-fragrance work; Forbes reports Pilkington’s claim that it was the world’s first fine fragrance using oud. Ormonde Woman, the house’s first fragrance, uses black hemlock alongside woods, spices and florals, and won Marie Claire UK’s 2025 award for Best Classic Women’s Fragrance after years of cult following. The house remains under Pilkington’s control, and in 2026 publicly framed its next phase around a reimagining of the Four Corners of the Earth collection.
