Ortir

Founded by Lisa Howarth in 2021 and launched in May 2022, Ortir grew from her work with land-based botanicals and perfume-making in West Wales. Its fragrances are rooted in the region’s wildlife, botanicals, and changing seasons, with materials grown and distilled from the land where Howarth lives. The collection forms part of a landscape-driven identity that connects scent with specific places and times, presenting fragrance as a practical, place-based experience. Ortir works through a small-batch approach and a method of slow perfumery, allowing oils and concentrates to mature according to their formulation and the season. In 2023, Ortir Apothecari won Fashion and Beauty Startup of the Year at the Wales Startup Awards.
