Fragrance house

Panaroma

Panaroma is documented as a fragrance released by Parfums CIRO in 1961, rather than as a separately documented fragrance house. Parfums CIRO began with Jacob S. Wiedhopf, who with a business partner founded the Guy T. Gibson Company in New York in 1921; its first own fragrances appeared in 1923, produced in France by Gabilla. In 1936, the company adopted the name Parfums CIRO and added a Paris base at Place Vendôme. Panaroma was the company’s last fragrance at the time, following more than two dozen releases. After the house was bought out in the 1970s, it reportedly fell into obscurity for more than four decades. Rainer Diersche acquired the CIRO trademark rights and relaunched the brand in April 2018, reinterpreting historical fragrances under their original names alongside contemporary creations and modernized Art Deco-influenced design. CIRO’s most famous fragrance is described as Chevalier de la Nuit, originally released in 1923.
