Paolo Gigli
Based in Florence, Tuscany, Paolo Gigli traces its history to 1948, when Nello Gigli established the business in postwar Italy. Nello began in glass decoration before moving into finished perfumes with the support of a perfume chemist, while the business initially focused substantially on foreign markets. The next generation brought Nello’s son Paolo into the firm, where he continued the founder’s craftsmanship tradition while modernizing production and fragrance research. That heritage is expressed through a creative language joining Florentine decorative craftsmanship and perfume, including hand-decorated bottles and changing design and olfactive directions across the 1950s, 1970s, and the present. Today, the brand’s identity is framed around family heritage, Italian and Florentine craftsmanship, and the pairing of decorative objects with eau de parfum and extract formats. Its fragrance work includes The Secret of the Universe, a collection centered on nature, flowers, fruits, moss, and spiritual reconnection, with examples such as Fiori Stellati and Giardino Segreto.
