Papillon
Papillon traces its development to 2010, when Liz Moores began blending perfumes at her kitchen table, initially bottling three fragrances by hand for herself and her family. The house identifies itself as established in 2011, and its debut collection—Anubis, Tobacco Rose, and Angélique—was launched in 2014 and accepted by London perfume boutique Les Senteurs. Papillon’s creative approach combines classical perfume-making methods with small-batch production and storytelling rooted in colours, textures, and places; its fragrances are presented as androgynous and cruelty-free. Anubis, which began as Moores’s personal signature and was the first fragrance she created for Papillon, is one of the house’s bestsellers. Salome was a finalist in the Fragrance Foundation Awards in 2015 and the Art and Olfaction Awards in 2016. On 24 June 2025, Papillon marked its eleventh anniversary while reiterating its classical, small-batch method.
