Parfums Celine

Celine was founded in Paris in 1945 by Céline Vipiana as a made-to-measure children’s-shoe business. During the 1960s, it expanded into women’s fashion, developing a practical, sport-influenced wardrobe alongside leather goods. Bernard Arnault acquired a stake in 1987, and LVMH acquired the company outright in 1996. Phoebe Philo joined in 2008 and reshaped the house around minimalist design, precise forms, active women, and modernist references. In 2018, Hedi Slimane became Artistic, Creative and Image Director, overseeing fashion, couture, leather goods, accessories, and fragrances. His tenure changed Celine’s public identity through a rock-influenced universe, the introduction of menswear, and the addition of fragrances and makeup. Celine launched its Haute Parfumerie collection in 2019, its first fragrance launch since Vent Fou in 1964. Rooted in French high perfumery and the couturier-parfumeur tradition, the collection draws on Slimane’s olfactory journal and a Parisian approach that combines classicism, dissonant sophistication, personal memory, and compositions that do not divide traditionally masculine and feminine notes.
