Parfums DelRae
Parfums DelRae was launched in 2000 by San Francisco graphic designer DelRae Roth after a collaboration with French perfumer Michel Roudnitska. Its first three fragrances—Amoureuse, Eau Illuminée, and Bois de Paradis—were based on Roth’s memories and places in San Francisco, while Émotionnelle drew on her year living in Paris during the 1980s. Roth described the house’s vision as complex, original perfumes with classical construction and remained involved in conceptualizing fragrances, naming them, and designing their labels. Roudnitska formulated Roth’s first five fragrances; Yann Vasnier created Mythique, the first DelRae fragrance not co-created with Roudnitska. Bois de Paradis, launched in 2002, was Roth’s personal favorite and a critical and commercial success. In late July 2019, after 19 years of perfume creation and business, Parfums DelRae announced that it was ending operations.
