Parterre

Founded in 2015 by Julia and David Bridger, Parterre is based at Keyneston Mill in Dorset, the botanical setting they developed for the brand. After a visit to Grasse prompted a plan for a botany-based venture, the Bridgers established an aromatic botanical garden and fragrance business in Dorset. Parterre’s seed-to-bottle model begins with botanicals cultivated and distilled at Keyneston Mill, which principal perfumer Jacques Chabert uses in Grasse to compose the fragrances. The first three scents—A Tribute to Edith, Run of the River, and Root of All Goodness—launched at Fortnum & Mason in 2017. The fragrances are presented as limited editions because harvests vary in both quantity and character, and each bottle is individually numbered. Its early collection includes A Tribute to Edith, created as an homage to Edith Piaf, and Run of the River, one of the original launch fragrances.
