Fragrance house
Paul Sebastian
Paul Sebastian began in 1979 as a fragrance venture founded by New Jersey residents Leonard Paul Cuozzo and Alan Sebastian Greco, whose middle names supplied the brand’s name. Their first fragrance, PS Fine Cologne, was initially distributed through three New Jersey apparel stores; within two years, the fragrances were sold in about 300 U.S. stores. The brand entered the global perfume market in 1989 and broadened its range with Design for women in 1985, followed by a men’s Design fragrance and the Casual series in 1995. In January 1999, French Fragrances acquired rights to manufacture, market, and distribute Paul Sebastian’s prestige fragrance brands. Revlon’s 2016 acquisition of Elizabeth Arden placed the Paul Sebastian business within Revlon’s ownership chain. Paul Sebastian Cologne, introduced in 1979, is identified as the brand’s flagship product.
