Pearfat Parfum

Pearfat Parfum was founded by Alie Kiral, who is also its perfumer; the project began as her perfume-making hobby and grew into a full-time, largely solo operation. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kiral took an experimental perfumery class through the Institute for Art & Olfaction, and one year later Pearfat released 2030 Park Avenue, its first fragrance. The brand’s creative identity draws on Midwestern childhood scent memories, classic fragrances, pop culture, humor about the human body, and gender-fluid expression. Its handmade fine fragrances are designed to be whimsical, nostalgic, and accessible, with storytelling influenced by history, culture, and artistic expression. The original DIY presentation—minimal bottles, hand-printed labels, and a hands-on process—continues as part of Pearfat’s visual identity, alongside a self-funded business model. Its fragrance stories often turn place and memory into perfume: 2030 Park Avenue follows a Detroit-to-nightclub narrative, while Multiball translates Chicago’s Logan Arcade into a perfume narrative built around pinball, cola, lime, waxed floorboards, and metal.
