Peccato
Peccato, originally Peccato Originale, is an Italian fragrance brand founded in 2012 by pharmacist and chemist Silvia Monti. Its story grew from Monti’s work in her family pharmacy and her study of historical galenic pharmaceutical preparations. The brand translated that background into a creative language joining pharmaceutical imagery and concepts with perfumery: its fragrances were presented as artistic perfumes by prescription, inspired by galenic formulas and intended to address emotional states. The initial collection was introduced to the general public at Fragranze 2012 with five fragrances, with a sixth announced for later that year. In 2020, Peccato Originale became the property of Hippocrates Holding S.p.A., which retained the fragrance names and olfactory pyramids while changing the brand name to Silvia Monti Profumi d’Artista. The collection continued under that name, placing the original fragrances under Monti’s name. Its fragrance identity is especially associated with an unisex, emotionally themed prescription approach.
