Pedro Morago
Pedro Morago was a fashion designer from Valladolid, Spain, whose eponymous label was presenting collections in Barcelona by March 1983. Its early work drew on rock influences, approached menswear for both men and women, and reflected contemporary trends from London, Paris, and New York. In the 1990s, Morago was part of the Spanish fashion circuit, including designers bringing menswear back to Pasarela Cibeles in 1996. A September 1996 showing combined strong colors and checks with vivid combinations, a more classic line, and a colonial series in white linen; in September 1997, he presented the spring-summer 1998 collection, whose show closed the event’s third day. The PEDRO MORAGO trademark was filed in the United States in 1986, registered in 1990 for clothing, footwear, and headgear, and cancelled in 1996. The label also extended into fragrance with Agua Nueva, described in 2000 as a simple, fresh scent, with Madera-Muse for men and Floral-Musc for women. In 2024, Pedro Morago was cited as an influence on designer Maite Muñoz’s training in patternmaking and craftsmanship.
