Penguin
Original Penguin traces its origin to 1955, when Munsingwear salesman Abbot Pederson developed the Pete the Penguin mascot and the idea of placing it on a shirt. The brand evolved from a Munsingwear golf shirt featuring Pete’s likeness into a lifestyle label combining American sportswear with contemporary style. Supreme International acquired Munsingwear in 1995, and Perry Ellis International introduced the Original Penguin by Munsingwear menswear line in 2002. The brand is currently owned by Perry Ellis International, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries. On March 19, 2024, Perry Ellis International announced Blue Label, a marine-inspired fragrance presented as the return of Original Penguin fragrances and linked to the brand’s contemporary identity.
