Fragrance house
Perfume Holding
Perfume Holding traces its origins to Morris Profumi, founded in Parma in 1946 by Giuseppe Borri, and presents an international fragrance and cosmetics business built across creation, production, and distribution. Around 2010, the Morris Profumi business and the French Perfume Holding structure were consolidated; in 2016, Morris Profumi S.p.A. became the incorporating company in a cross-border merger with Perfume Holding S.A.S. The group’s portfolio combined proprietary and licensed fragrance brands, and it was controlled by Investindustrial and Orlando Management; Investindustrial later listed Perfume Holding among its prior investments. One of its major creative projects was the revival of Atkinsons, whose historical identity reaches back to London in 1799 and an appointment as Official Perfumer to the Royal Court of England in 1826. After acquiring the Atkinsons licence from Procter & Gamble in 2008, Perfume Holding relaunched the house with new fragrances and formulations informed by research into its archives. In 2019, Morris Profumi entered voluntary liquidation, and in July 2020, 32 former employees formed a Coopfond-supported workers’ cooperative to take over the production business.
