Perfumehead

Perfumehead is a Los Angeles-founded fragrance brand created by Daniel Patrick Giles. Launched in 2022, it first presented seven hand-poured extrait fragrances at Violet Grey. Its guiding concept, the “Osmocosm,” connects smell with place and treats scents as stories; the debut collection was conceived as an olfactory portrait of Los Angeles, drawing on art, film, music, books, poetry, and Hollywood history. Giles is the brand’s principal creative figure, developing fragrances through cinematic narratives and cultural muses. Perfumehead’s early identity centered on concentrated extrait de parfum, with craftsmanship, raw-material sourcing, relationships with master perfumers, and packaging artistry described as core to its approach. Its place-based fragrance identity includes references to the Chateau Marmont, the Sunset Strip, and Los Angeles nightlife and culture. In 2025, the brand introduced 1272, inspired by Giles’s Wexler House in Palm Springs, in a cologne-extrait hybrid format called “coltrait.”
