Perfumer H
Perfumer H was founded in London in 2015 by British perfumer Lyn Harris and her husband, Christophe Michel. The brand developed from a Marylebone space that combined a working perfume laboratory with bespoke, laboratory, and seasonal fragrance services. Its public identity is shaped by Harris’s single creative vision, translating olfactory landscapes and the natural world through a balance of natural materials and fragrance science. Harris trained in Paris with Monique Schlienger before studying and working with Robertet in Grasse, while maintaining an independent relationship with the company from London. In 2017, Harris and Perfumer H were included in Somerset House’s exhibition Ten Perfumers who have changed the perception of fragrance. The brand’s design language includes handblown, refillable perfume vessels made with glassblower Michael Ruh. Perfumer H also experienced outside minority investment: Patina Brands took a stake in October 2020, Fable Investments invested in June 2021, and Fable increased its stake by May 2023. Steam is identified as the brand’s current bestseller; Harris worked on it for ten years and finalized its creative vision after visiting tea forests in Jingmai, southwestern China.
